Fun with Socks: Part II

I was walking with my friend the other day in Toronto when he took notice of a man dressed fairly conservatively in a glen check suit. The outfit was well done, but quite unremarkable except for his bright red socks, which is what drew his gaze. I believe it was Hardy Amies in his book the ABC of Menís Fashion that one is best to indulge in coloured hosiery when the rest of oneís outfit is subdued and monochromatic Ė it adds a tiny bit of casual nonchalance and interest.

Here red socks are worn with a navy suit and oxblood captoes matched above with a Bengal shirt in blue and white with a dotted tie in navy.
